The once beautiful city of Krat has become a living hell, and you must find the famed Mr. As Pinocchio himself, you must navigate through a dark Belle Epoque world where all of humanity is lost. Built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 4 for PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series S/X systems, Lies of P tells the story of Pinocchio as you’ve never seen it before. On August 24th, Twitter user posted art that gained over 25 likes in a similar timeframe (shown below, right).This is Lies of P, a brand new Souls-like Action RPG inspired by the classic Italian novel from Carlo Collodi. For example, Twitter user posted art on August 23rd, 2022, gaining over 70 likes in one week (shown below, left). The game's Twitter account, created in July 2021, gained over 13,000 followers in 13 months.įan art regularly appeared online after each reveal trailer, particularly for Pinocchio. A subreddit for the game, /r/liesofp, was created the day its announcement trailer was released and gained over 900 subscribers in 15 months. Many of its teasers and trailers have surpassed 1 million views on YouTube.
Lies of P has generated significant hype ahead of its release dating back to its initial reveal in mid-2021. The game is slated for a 2023 release and will come out on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles and PC. In interviews, director Jiwon Choi revealed that the game will have a "lying" system in which players will be forced to choose between telling the truth or lying about certain events and that these choices would alter the story. On August 23rd, 2022, NeoWiz released a gameplay trailer (shown below, left), and 12 minutes of gameplay footage was released online later that day (shown below, right). The teaser showed off Pinocchio as the protagonist using a myriad of weapons and buffs. GameSpot's upload of the teaser (shown below) gained over 1.1 million views in 10 months. On November 8th, 2021, NeoWiz released the alpha teaser for Lies of P. Polygon compared the look of the game to Bloodborne, a comparison that stuck with the game through subsequent trailers and announcements. It shows off the city of Krat, an English town that has befallen a plague. The video, published by IGN, gained over 1.1 million views in one year (shown below). On May 19th, 2021, NeoWiz released the announcement trailer for Lies of P.
